Stores Executive

• Execute day-to-day stores activities including receipt, storage, preservation, identification, and issuance of materials such as steel, pipes, equipment, spares, consumables, and project-specific items.
• Follow defined SOPs for yard stores, warehouses, and laydown areas.
• Ensure proper material preservation, corrosion protection, and storage practices as per OEM guidelines and quality requirements.

2. Material Receipt, Inspection & Traceability

• Coordinate with logistics and quality teams during material receipt and inspection.
• Assist in GRN preparation in ERP / SAP systems after inspection clearance.
• Ensure correct tagging, labelling, batch numbers, heat numbers, and traceability markings.
• Maintain availability and filing of material certificates, inspection reports, and related documentation.
• Report discrepancies in quantity, quality, or documentation to supervisors for resolution.

3. Inventory Control & System Accuracy

• Update and maintain accurate inventory records in ERP / SAP for receipts, issues, transfers, and returns.
• Participate in cycle counts, physical stock verification, and reconciliation activities.
• Support monitoring of stock ageing, slow-moving items, and excess inventory.

4. Issue Control & Production Support

• Issue materials strictly against approved indents, work orders, and authorisations.
• Ensure timely material supply to production, erection, fabrication, and repair teams.
• Prevent unauthorised issue, misuse, or loss of materials.
• Escalate material shortages, mismatches, or potential delays to seniors.

5. Yard Layout, Storage & Safety

• Maintain orderly storage of materials in designated locations as per layout plans.
• Ensure safe stacking, lifting practices, load limits, and proper use of handling equipment.
• Follow safety norms for hazardous materials, flammable items, and heavy loads.
• Support housekeeping initiatives and safety audits within stores and yard areas.

6. Scrap, Surplus & Obsolete Material Handling

• Identify scrap, damaged, surplus, or obsolete materials and report for further action.
• Assist in segregation, tagging, and safe storage of scrap materials.
• Maintain basic records related to scrap generation and movement.

7. Coordination & Communication

• Coordinate with procurement, planning, production, and logistics teams for smooth material flow.
• Provide feedback on packaging condition, transit damage, and handling issues.
• Support receipt and handling of heavy, oversized, or critical materials as planned.

8. Compliance & Documentation

• Adhere to internal controls, quality procedures, and audit requirements.
• Maintain proper documentation for GRNs, issue slips, stock registers, and system entries.
• Assist during internal, external, and class audits by providing accurate records.

9. Reporting & Continuous Improvement

• Prepare and update basic MIS reports on receipts, issues, stock status, and discrepancies.
• Suggest improvements in storage practices, material handling, and process efficiency.
• Participate in continuous improvement and 5S initiatives within stores operations.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of inventory control and material traceability.
• Basic knowledge of shipyard materials such as steel, pipes, valves, fittings, and equipment.
• Attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
• Safety awareness and disciplined work approach.
• Good coordination and communication skills.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma / Graduate in Materials Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Engineering (preferred).
• Working knowledge of ERP / SAP inventory modules.
