Store Executive - Civil Construction Materials

Job Summary

The Store Executive will be responsible for efficiently managing the receipt, storage, and issue of construction materials at the project site/store, ensuring accurate inventory records through the ERP tool. This role requires strong attention to detail, familiarity with construction materials, and the ability to maintain smooth coordination between purchase, site, and accounts teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Material Receipt & Inspection

• Receive construction materials from suppliers and verify quantity, quality, and specifications against purchase orders and delivery challans.
  
• Record GRN (Goods Receipt Note) in the ERP system.
  
• Report any material shortages, damages, or discrepancies immediately.
  

2. Inventory Management

• Maintain proper stock levels of all construction materials.
  
• Regularly update stock entries in the ERP tool.
  
• Ensure safe and organized storage to avoid damage or wastage.
  

3. Material Issue & Documentation

• Issue materials to site engineers/contractors based on approved requisitions.
  
• Maintain issue slips and update ERP accordingly.
  
• Track material usage and prevent unauthorized withdrawals.
  

4. ERP Tool Operation

• Accurately enter material receipts, issues, transfers, and returns in ERP.
  
• Generate daily/weekly/monthly stock reports from ERP.
  
• Assist in ERP-related troubleshooting and coordinate with IT if needed.
  

5. Stock Audit & Compliance

• Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile with ERP records.
  
• Assist in internal and external audits.
  
• Ensure adherence to company policies and safety guidelines for material handling.
  

6. Coordination & Communication

• Coordinate with Purchase, Accounts, and Project teams for smooth material flow.
  
• Maintain records of supplier invoices, challans, and related documentation.
  
• Liaise with transporters for timely material deliveries.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education:

  Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering, B.Com, or any relevant field.

• Experience:

  24 years in store/inventory management, preferably in the construction industry.

• Technical Skills:

  Proficiency in ERP software (SAP, Tally ERP, or equivalent), MS Excel.

• Knowledge:

  Good understanding of construction materials and units of measurement.

• Soft Skills:

  Attention to detail, organizational skills, ability to work under pressure.
