Store Assistant

As a Material Receipt & Inspection personnel, your primary responsibility will be to receive and verify raw materials or spare parts against purchase orders and delivery documents. You will meticulously inspect materials such as metal sheets, rods, and transformer components for both quantity and quality. Properly labeling, stacking, and storing materials will be essential to prevent damage and enhance accessibility. In addition, you will be entrusted with the task of maintaining accurate inventory records either through an ERP system or manual logs. Monitoring stock levels and promptly reporting any low stock or discrepancies to the Storeincharge or procurement department will be crucial to ensuring smooth operations. Furthermore, you will play a key role in issuing raw materials or spare parts based on production requisitions or job cards. Effective coordination with the production, procurement, and quality control teams will be necessary to facilitate timely material flow throughout the organization. Engaging in stock audits and cycle counts to support periodic physical stocktaking, as well as reconciling any variances that may arise, will be part of your routine tasks. Ensuring housekeeping standards and compliance with safety norms within the store will be paramount. This includes maintaining store cleanliness, as well as segregating and tagging non-conforming or excess materials according to internal procedures. Additionally, you may be required to assist in material handling tasks such as loading and unloading, and operating material handling equipment like forklifts, cranes, or pallet jacks if certified to do so. As part of this role, you will also be expected to support various adhoc tasks including administrative duties, data entry, and other assignments as delegated by the Storeincharge or Supervisor. Previous experience in warehouse or store operations, particularly in material handling within fabrication or manufacturing environments such as transformers or metalwork, will be advantageous. This is a full-time position with benefits including Provident Fund. Proficiency in English is preferred, and availability for day shifts is also preferred. The work location will be in person.
