Store Assistant: Manufacturing

Job Summary:

The Store Assistant is responsible for handling day-to-day operations of the store, including receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and maintaining records of materials and supplies used in the manufacturing process. The role ensures proper inventory control, stock accuracy, and timely availability of materials for production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials, tools, and equipment.
• Verify materials against purchase orders, invoices, and delivery challans.
• Properly store materials in designated locations following FIFO (First In, First Out) or FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) methods.
• Issue materials to production or other departments as per requisition.
• Maintain accurate records of receipts, issues, and stock levels (both manual and system-based).
• Conduct regular stock checks and assist in monthly/annual physical inventory audits.
• Coordinate with the purchase and production teams for stock replenishment.
• Label and organize materials for easy identification and traceability.
• Ensure cleanliness, safety, and security of the store area.
• Assist in maintaining minimum and maximum stock levels to avoid overstocking or stockouts.
• Generate reports on stock movement, discrepancies, and slow/non-moving items.

Required Skills and Competencies:

• Knowledge of inventory management and storekeeping procedures.
• Familiar with ERP or inventory management software (e.g., Tally, SAP, or Excel-based systems).
• Strong numerical accuracy and record-keeping skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Basic understanding of material specifications and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.

Educational Qualification:

• Minimum HSC / Diploma / Graduate in any discipline.
• Additional certification in Store Management / Inventory Control / Supply Chain will be an added advantage.

Experience Required:

• 1 to 3 years of experience in store operations within a manufacturing or engineering industry.
• Freshers with good technical knowledge and willingness to learn may also be considered.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
