Job Title: Steward – Food & Beverage Service

Department: Food & Beverage Service

Reports To: Captain / F&B Manager

Location: Fragrant Nature Paravur, Kollam

Job Summary: The Steward – F&B Service is responsible for providing exceptional guest service in the restaurant, banquet, bar, or other dining areas. The role involves ensuring prompt and efficient food & beverage service, maintaining cleanliness, and creating a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the overall guest experience. Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables.
  • Present menus, explain menu items, and take food & beverage orders accurately.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring correct portions and presentation.
  • Clear tables, reset for next guests, and maintain cleanliness throughout service.
  • Provide recommendations for food and beverage pairings when required.
  • Ensure timely refilling of water, beverages, and bread baskets.
  • Follow all hygiene, sanitation, and safety guidelines as per hotel standards.
  • Handle crockery, cutlery, and glassware carefully to avoid breakages.
  • Maintain cleanliness of service stations and dining areas.
  • Teamwork & Coordination Coordinate with kitchen staff for timely order delivery.
  • Assist fellow team members during peak service hours.
  • Communicate guest preferences and special requests to the kitchen/bar.
  • Upselling & Revenue Generation Promote special dishes, promotions, and events to guests.
  • Suggest upselling options such as premium beverages, desserts, and combo meals.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
  • Pleasant personality and guest-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to work under pressure during busy service hours.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma or certificate in hotel management or F&B service (preferred).
  • 0–2 years of experience in F&B service; freshers can be trained.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Carry trays and serve food & beverages safely.

Work Environment:

  • Restaurants, banquets, bars, coffee shops, and other hotel dining outlets.
  • Flexible to work in shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹14,000.00 - ₹16,000.00 per month
