The Government of India has set up the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM)to address urban health challenges and enhance access to and coverage of comprehensive primary health services
To augment and accelerate the Governments initiative in the state of Uttar Pradesh, UPTSU/IHAT has established an Urban PMU to provide crucial state-level support to the Urban Health Mission under the National Health Mission (NHM) Its key roles include providing technical assistance, capacity building, and program implementation support, while facilitating coordination among stakeholders and informing policy development By doing so, the Urban PMU aims to improve health outcomes, strengthen urban healthcare systems, and enhance program effectiveness, ultimately contributing to better health services for urban populations in the state
