State Specialist (PMU)_(For Internally Candidates Only) - India Health Action Trust (IHAT) State Specialist (PMU)_(For Internally Candidates Only) About IHAT: India Health Action Trust (IHAT) works towards reducing inequities by developing comprehensive and sustainable programs to improve population health. Aligned with Sustainable Development Goals, IHAT works closely with the Government of India and state governments to achieve public health goals. IHAT s work focuses on prevention and control of HIV and Tuberculosis, in achieving significant improvements in Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health, improved Nutrition among mothers and children, and strengthening health systems. IHAT has also set up Technical Support Units (TSU) and Innovation Hub to provide techno-managerial assistance and to coordinate with the Governments, Non-Government Agencies, Academic Institutions and Communities. About Program: Travel Requirements: 100% Job Summary : The Government of India has set up the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM)to address urban health challenges and enhance access to and coverage of comprehensive primary health services. To augment and accelerate the Government s initiative in the state of Uttar Pradesh, UPTSU/IHAT has established an Urban PMU to provide crucial state-level support to the Urban Health Mission under the National Health Mission (NHM). Its key roles include providing technical assistance, capacity building, and program implementation support, while facilitating coordination among stakeholders and informing policy development. By doing so, the Urban PMU aims to improve health outcomes, strengthen urban healthcare systems, and enhance program effectiveness, ultimately contributing to better health services for urban populations in the state. The State Specialist (SS) Urban Project Management Unit (PMU) plays a crucial role in facilitating key initiatives of the National Urban Health Mission at the state level. In collaboration with the National Urban Health Mission teams operating at both the divisional and district levels, each of the two SS Urban PMUs oversees approximately nine divisions. Key Responsibilities: S/he will collaborate with divisional and district urban health coordinators to support the implementation of National Urban Health Mission activities. S/he will support in facilitating training and capacity building of urban health staff on the NUHM program implementation. S/he will orient divisional and district-level urban health officials on the revised Urban Health Index Register (UHIR). S/he will support the rollout of the revised Urban Health Index Register (UHIR) for Urban ASHAs and assist them through district Urban Health Coordinators for effective usage. S/he will support the ANMs ASHA to update hierarchy mapping in the Ekavach application. S/he will support in establishing and strengthening platforms like cluster meetings, UPHC, UAAM meetings, and home visits by providing handholding support to CCPM. S/he will support in analyzing data, identifying trends, and providing insights to inform program decisions and improve service delivery. S/he will provide support to the divisional and district teams in conducting a comprehensive mapping of slum areas, performing slum profiling, and assisting in developing strategies to reach out to underserved urban populations with services. S/he will visit CiUHSNDs and provide supportive supervision and mentoring support to ensure the effective coverage and quality of RMNCH+N, including RI, MIYCN, NCD, and ID service delivery by the FLWs (ASHA, ANM, AWW) S/he supports strengthening the last-mile availability of drugs and diagnostics for UPHC and UAAMs. S/he will support strengthening supportive supervision mechanisms for Urban PHC and UAAMs. S/he will support the divisional ME in rolling out and utilizing the digital applications while ensuring the quality of data. S/he will support in strengthening community accountability platforms such as MAS and JAS. S/he will conduct supportive supervision and organize review meetings to tackle systemic and technical challenges in urban healthcare. S/he will support research efforts and document findings related to urban health, collaborating with teams focused on strengthening health systems. Perform other activities as assigned by the supervisor to achieve organizational goals. Essential: At least 3 year of experience in any of the RMNCHA and nutrition interventions. Preferred: Knowledge in use of digital applications will be preferred Candidate must be post graduate in any field with public health Key Competencies: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proven ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders. Good analytical and report-writing skills. Proficiency in MS Office, data tools, and digital platforms. Ability to work independently and travel within the assigned city.
