The Staff Software Engineer (Delphi Architect) for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for leading a team of engineers creating software applications that will help to translate Microbiology s strategic vision into technical reality. You will participate in reviews and inspections for all elements in the software lifecycle to ensure that our software quality and customer satisfaction goals are achieved. You will participate in all elements of the software life cycle and be part of a Scrum Team.
You will be called upon to work collaboratively with our business partners, Architects, Product Managers/Owners, to set goals for your team and guide them with hands-on technical expertise. You will be involved in deep technical design discussions and implementations. You will bring your proficiency in application development, software development leadership and detailed SW planning/execution acumen.
You will have the opportunity to mentor team members to become highly efficient in what they do with on-time product delivery. You will work with a globally distributed Agile team in a fast- paced environment. Your team members will be located in Bangalore and will closely collaborate with the development teams in Sacramento, California.
This position is part of the Beckman Coulter Diagnostics IDC Microbiology located in Bangalore and will be onsite . At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Develop and maintain innovative medical software applications.
- Implement software architectures, designs, unit tests and conduct appropriate module testing.
- May lead small teams of developers and coach junior team members on standard practices.
- Follow established best practices for software development standards and agile methodologies.
- Work collaboratively and proactively to maximize the success of the research and development teams.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 12+ years of experience with: Delphi 10.2, Delphi.Net, SQL and unit testing frameworks.
- Strong understanding of technical principals, theories, and concepts in Software Development. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming with familiarity of design and architectural patterns.
- Proficiency working with software development methodologies including Agile and Scrum using Azure DevOps. Experience working with code versioning tools including Git and SVN.
- Exceptional problem solving, critical thinking, and strong collaboration skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate software and system design.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Continuous Integration experience (CI/CD).
- Experience developing regulated medical device software that strictly adheres to design controls and quality management system requirements (FDA CFR 820, ISO 13485)
- Experience with .Net windows/desktop application development.
