Job Description

As a Staff Software Developer, you will provide technical guidance and leadership through the design, implementation, testing, and delivery of projects of significant complexity in the logistics and order management space that span across multiple teams. You will act as a role model for your team members, flawlessly executing complicated plans and navigating multiple levels of the organization. You may also act as a lead on interactions with both customers and Global Customer Care teams in managing critical escalations. What you will do Operate as a technical primary on assigned features and coordinate across teams to ensure requirements are met and implementation, execution and testing are done with excellence. Design Kinaxis software features of advanced complexity, considering multiple perspectives such as security, testability, maintainability, serviceability, etc, and guide the designs of more junior developers. Implement large features with substantial, complex areas of code with significant interdependencies, identifying and prioritizing areas of code to be refactored. Log defects, triage, assess, investigate, and fix advanced complex bugs and defects. Proactively check for other instances of the same problem. Employ a determined and clear focus on testability to select, create, and implement appropriate testing techniques. Submit code for review, incorporating feedback, and review code of more junior developers, providing feedback and guidance. Act as a technical advisor to managers/leaders and mentor team members to develop their skills and build shared ownership across the code base. Proactively seek opportunities to learn and develop, including participation in mentoring programs, technical training, attending conferences, etc Keep apprised of technology trends and recommend opportunities to leverage them to accelerate R&D. What we are looking for bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent related discipline. 12+ years of progressive software development experience in Java, working in an enterprise-grade software applications for 3+ years, including experience leading development efforts on several features with advanced complexity. Experience with developing/testing micro-services. Advanced knowledge of open-source frameworks including Spring and Hibernate. Clear, concise, and professional communicator with the ability to present complex information and engage the listener at the appropriate level. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to make proposals and consider input from others to determine and plan the best course of action. Knowledge of transactional systems like Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS). Logistics knowledge and understanding of supply chain processes. Ability to write, refactor, and modify complex, industry-leading quality code with complex interdependencies. Ability to build rapport and gain support from fellow developers and provide meaningful constructive feedback to more junior developers, peers, and senior developers/leaders. Ability to take different perspectives to apply appropriate test strategies and recommend significant test framework changes. Design skills that consider multiple perspectives and identify trade-offs.
