Job Summary

We re seeking a hands-on Lead Software Engineer to lead a small delivery pod while coding daily across the stack. You will own a product area end-to-end, set technical direction, raise the engineering bar, and mentor engineers while still spending the majority of your time writing production code. This role blends technical leadership with deep individual contribution to deliver reliable, scalable features on a modern cloud platform (primarily on Azure) in a distributed team environment.

Required Technical Skills


Experience & Leadership

o 7+ years of professional software development experience.
o Recent experience operating as a tech lead on production systems.
o Proven ability to own a product area end-to-end: architecture, design, implementation, code reviews, and production support.

Backend & Services

o Deep expertise in .NET Core.
o Strong experience with microservices architectures.
o Experience with REST and GraphQL APIs.
o Ability to debug complex, system-wide issues across microservices, APIs, and data layers.

Frontend

o Strong front-end proficiency.
o Experience with Next.js (preferred) or Angular or Vue.
o Solid understanding of TypeScript, modern JavaScript, and responsive UI development.
o Familiarity with component libraries such as Material-UI.

Authentication & Security

o Experience with modern authentication/authorization mechanisms:
Azure B2C, NextAuth.js, OAuth flows.
MSAL-Angular, JWT handling.

Databases & Data Layer

o Hands-on experience with MongoDB (primary data store).
o Working knowledge of SQL databases.

Cloud & Tooling

o Strong experience with Azure (Azure-native preferred).
o AWS exposure is acceptable.
o Comfortable with common engineering toolchains:
Visual Studio / VS Code
Git and standard CI/CD workflows.
o Ability to make pragmatic architecture decisions balancing scalability, reliability, security, and cost.

Nice to Have Skills:


E-commerce & CMS / Integrations


BigCommerce or Similar Platforms

o Experience with Storefront and Admin APIs.
o Working with webhooks and event-driven integrations.

Contentful (or Similar Headless CMS)

o Content modeling and structuring.
o Authoring workflows and content delivery.

Stripe

o API integrations for payments.
o Subscription management and webhook handling.

Search & SEO

o Experience with Algolia Search.
o SEO integration and optimization.

Additional Good to Have

Broader exposure to AWS cloud services.
Experience with other modern frontend ecosystems beyond the listed tech stack.

Soft Skills & Collaboration

Ownership & Mindset

o Strong own the problem attitude; no not-my-code mindset.
o Demonstrated ability to dig into all levels of the stack to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
o High engineering discipline measure twice, cut once approach to quality.

Leadership & Mentorship

o Experience mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.
o Conducting thoughtful code reviews and leading pair/mob programming sessions.
o Helping teammates grow via constructive feedback and coaching.

Communication & Remote Collaboration

o Comfortable working across geographies, time zones, and cultures (US and India).
o Operates effectively in a distributed team with minimal guidance.
o Proactive communicator with a natural tendency to share updates early and often.
o Able to partner closely with product management and other stakeholders to deliver outcomes, not just code
