We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly technical
Staff QA Engineer
with deep hands-on experience across ABBYY s Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) suite
, especially ABBYY Vantage
. In this role, you will serve as the bridge between product, engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure our document-centric automation solutions meet functional requirements, business expectations, and real-world performance standards before release.
You will design, execute, and manage UAT cycles across ABBYY Vantage skills, workflows, connectors, and integrations validating quality end-to-end and ensuring flawless customer experiences.
Responsibilities
QA Planning & Execution
- Develop comprehensive QA plans, scripts, and acceptance criteria for ABBYY Vantage solutions, skills, and custom automations.
- Execute manual and semi-automated UAT test cases across document ingestion, classification, extraction, validation, and integration workflows.
- Perform end-to-end testing of Vantage-based processes including connectors (e.g., UiPath, Blue Prism, Azure/AWS endpoints, REST APIs).
- Validate business rules, document models, skill training results, and extraction accuracy across various document types.
Quality Assurance & Defect Management
- Identify, log, prioritize, and track defects found during UAT in collaboration with QA, product, and development teams.
- Reproduce issues, analyze root causes, and validate fixes within Vantage and connected systems.
- Ensure compliance with quality, security, and regulatory standards.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with business users, solution architects, and implementation teams to gather requirements and translate them into testable scenarios.
- Work closely with ABBYY experts and developers to verify Vantage configuration, machine learning model performance, and workflow correctness.
- Facilitate UAT reviews, summarize findings, and communicate readiness recommendations to leadership.
Documentation & Reporting
- Create and maintain QA documentation including test cases, execution logs, defect reports, and sign-off artifacts.
- Provide clear, actionable feedback to improve Vantage configuration, training data, and workflow design.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of UAT processes, templates, and best practices.
Qualifications
Required
- 8+ years of experience in
User Acceptance Testing
, Quality Assurance, or business process automation testing. - Hands-on experience with
ABBYY Vantage
, including: - Building and training document skills (OCR/ICR, ML extraction, classification)
- Creating or validating workflows and process skill configurations
- Testing ingestion channels, connections, and output formats
- Strong understanding of
Intelligent Document Processing (IDP)
, OCR, and data extraction concepts. - Familiarity with APIs, JSON, and system integration testing.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred
- Experience with additional ABBYY products (FlexiCapture, Timeline, Recognition Server).
- Exposure to RPA platforms (UiPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere).
- Background in business automation, enterprise data processing, or workflow optimization.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
