Job Description

Summary

Design, deploy, and improve SAP solutions for MRO Engineering Quality across production sites and new deployments.

Role Overview:

As a Staff Enterprise Architect, you will design and implement solutions for Engineering and Quality within GE Aerospaces Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) SAP platform. In addition to resolving issues and developing new solutions for sites already using SAP, you will deploy solutions and processes to new locations. You will work in lockstep with product and process teams to design and implement SAP features that address shop needs.

  • Design and implement SAP solutions for new deployments and live instances; coordinate across SAP verticals; contribute reusable components.
  • Partner with the Engineering and Quality Global Product Architect to assess the landscape and identify improvements in the production environment.
  • Support analysis, design, and development of a roadmap and implementation aligned to current and future state in a cohesive architectural viewpoint.
  • Write functional specifications; create and manage test cases; conduct unit, integration, performance, and acceptance testing; drive defect resolution.
  • Collaborate with other SAP verticals on best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in domain technical and business discussions regarding future architectural direction.
  • Gather and analyze data to develop architectural requirements at the project level.
  • Participate in the Enterprise Architecture governance model.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and market developments to inform project and operational support activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field from an accredited university/college, and a minimum of 8 years of professional experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in MRO shops and/or SAP ERP.
  • Legal authorization to work in the country is required. We will not sponsor employment visas for this role, now or in the future.
  • Experience in SAP ECC S4 in PM, PP, QM, customer service modules.
  • Experience in MM, SD desirable.
  • Hands-on SAP: writing functional specs; building/managing test cases; conducting testing; managing developments/enhancements; strong debugging and problem-solving

Preferred Qualifications

Business Acumen:

  • Strong business analysis, requirements gathering, and solution design for global, cross-functional MRO engineering processes.
  • Solid understanding of industry best practices, standards, and continuous improvement for SAP-driven business processes.
  • Proven documentation, prototyping, and change management skills, including converting design specifications into executable technical assets.
  • Adept at navigating a matrixed organization; can foresee obstacles, identify workarounds, leverage resources, and rally teammates.
  • SAP certifications in relevant modules.
  • Familiarity with SAP technical sizing, S/4HANA migrations, integrations with non-SAP applications (e.g., MES), Master Data Management and administration across common OS/database variants.
  • Ability to consult GPAs, GPOs, and customers on aligning outcomes and desired technical solutions at the enterprise level.
  • Ability to analyze, design, and develop solutions based on current vs. future state of the business.
  • Able to lead early-stage customer interactions and guide customers as they build confidence.
  • Familiar with versatile implementation options.
  • Demonstrates initiative to explore alternative technologies and approaches to problem-solving.
  • Skilled at breaking down problems, documenting problem statements, and estimating effort.
