Job Description

Scope of Responsibilities:

Ensure all compensation and benefits programs are both cost-effective and market-competitive, aligned with business objectives, and fully compliant with local laws
Support key annual cycles including compensation planning, insurance renewals, and monthly benefits enrollment
Lead or support regional C&B initiatives and ensure local alignment with Illumina's global total rewards strategy
Evaluate complex issues and propose solutions that consider varying practices and market dynamics
Plan and implement compensation or benefits changes, managing communication, risk mitigation, and stakeholder engagement
Develop and deliver training materials, documentation, and communications that explain compensation and benefits to employees and leaders in a clear and understandable way
Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and understanding of C&B programs across HR, Finance, Legal, and leadership teams
Serve as a subject matter expert on India compensation and benefits legislation and compliance requirements
Lead or support regional C&B benchmarking and participate in 12 compensation and benefits surveys per year
Utilize Mercer tools or similar compensation systems and platforms to analyze, model, and benchmark pay and benefits programs
May mentor junior team members or regional HR partners as needed
Support the wider COE (Center of Excellence) with global or cross-regional initiatives

Experience and Education:

Master's degree required, preferably in HR, Business, or related discipline
Minimum of 8 years of experience in compensation and benefits in a multinational environment
Deep understanding of compensation and benefits regulations, programs, and best practices in India
Experience supporting other regions is a plus
Prior hands-on experience with Mercer tools (or similar platforms) and compensation surveys
Strong experience developing compensation/benefits documentation, FAQs, and program rollout plans
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work cross-functionally, and present insights to leadership
