Staff Accountant – Hospitality

Employment Type: Full-timeRole SummaryHoward is looking for an Accountant with hospitality experience to support daily and monthly accounting tasks for aportfolio of restaurant and hotel clients. This role requires strong accounting fundamentals, accuracy, and the ability tomeet recurring deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities
  • Process daily accounting activity: journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reviews
  • Reconcile bank accounts, POS sales, cash deposits, credit cards, and delivery platforms
  • Support AP/AR functions, vendor reconciliations, and invoice reviews
  • Assist with inventory, COGS, labor analysis, and monthly accounting close periods
  • Prepare sales tax filings and other hospitality-related reporting
  • Maintain accurate financial records and support audits as needed
  • Support other assigned accounting projects as needed

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of accounting experience; hospitality accounting required
  • Knowledge of hospitality workflows (POS reconciliation, inventory, labor cost)
  • Experience with accounting systems (QuickBooks, R365, Sage Intacct) and POS platforms (Toast, Micros, Aloha)
  • Strong Excel and organizational skills
  • English Proficiency
  • Ability to manage deadlines and communicate effectively with clients

Preferred

  • Multi-unit hospitality experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and/or equivalent work experience
