Sr. Wordpress Developer

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior WordPress Developer (4+ years) who can take

ownership of full-cycle WordPress development — from architecture to deployment. You will

lead custom theme and plugin development, optimize performance, manage integrations, and

mentor junior developers. This role is ideal for someone who is both technically strong and

strategically minded.

Key Responsibilities:

● Lead the development of complex, high-performance WordPress websites.

● Architect and implement custom themes and plugins using modern coding standards.

● Manage end-to-end project lifecycle — planning, coding, testing, deployment, and

maintenance.

● Optimize websites for performance, scalability, and security.

● Integrate third-party APIs and build custom REST endpoints when necessary.

● Collaborate with UI/UX teams to convert design mockups into clean, maintainable code.

● Conduct peer code reviews and mentor mid/junior developers.

● Implement CI/CD pipelines and manage version control using Git.

● Proactively identify and resolve bugs, bottlenecks, and technical debt.

● Stay updated on WordPress core updates, best practices, and emerging technologies.

Required Skills:

● 4+ years of professional experience in WordPress development.

● Deep knowledge of PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and jQuery.

● Expertise in building custom WordPress themes and plugins (without relying heavily on

third-party builders).

● Proficiency with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), WooCommerce, and WordPress REST

API.

● Strong understanding of WordPress hooks, filters, actions, and custom post types.

● Hands-on experience with Git, GitHub/Bitbucket, and deployment workflows.

● Familiarity with page builders like Elementor (bonus if you can extend/customize it).

● Experience with caching strategies, performance optimization, and security hardening.

● Exposure to WP-CLI, cron jobs, and database optimization.

Preferred (Bonus) Skills:

● Experience with headless CMS or decoupled WordPress (e.g., using React, Next.js).

● Familiarity with Docker, Linux, and server-side performance tuning.

● Knowledge of SEO, accessibility (WCAG), and Core Web Vitals.

● Contribution to WordPress core, themes, or plugins on GitHub or WordPress.org.

● Experience managing client communication or leading small dev teams.

Soft Skills:

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
