Purpose of the role
The Digital and Technology team of General Mills India Centre is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to contribute to the Global Digital Transformation initiative at General Mills in capacity of a Sr. Technical Engineer.
The SAP Sr. Technical Engineer is responsible for the design and delivery of solutions across the GMI ecosystem, focusing on the implementation of SAP and integration with applications across the system landscape.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- This role is an Individual Contributor role for SAP Development team responsible for custom developments.
- Individual should be able to provide technical consultation to the functional team and derive the technical solution keeping in mind the end-to-end business process, the scalability and sustainability of the change and the performance factors.
- The individual should be able estimate, plan and break the large development work into smaller work deliverables and delegate the same to the junior team members and ensure the effective delivery of the same.
- The Individual should have a deep technical understanding on Core ABAP, PI, ALE/IDOC, Workflow, Layouts, UI/UX etc.
- The individual should have deep functional understanding on all the SAP modules. (MM, SD, FI, CRM, TM, APO etc.)
- The individual should be able to mentor and guide team members in technical, functional and process related areas.
- They should have an experimental mindset and should look out for the latest from SAP and find feasibility of GM adaptation.
- The individual should also be proficient the latest offerings of SAP (ABAP on Hana, S4 Hana, C4 Hana, Fiori etc.)
- The Individual should be able to strategize and collaboratively implement integrated Process improvements across teams.
- The Individual should drive SAP best practices within the team (Code Review, DDIC & Change Control) and coach and onboard the stewards for the monitoring and implementation on the same.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education Full time graduation from an accredited university
- Strong technical and functional knowledge (Core ABAP, MM, FI, SD, CRM, APO, TM).
- Strong knowledge and work experience in Future skills (ABAP on HANA, S4 HANA, C4 HANA & UI5/Fiori)
- Have worked on in lead roles in larger implementation projects.
- Understand more broadly how their applications/technologies integrate with others outside of their own work group
- Have built credibility based on their own track record and experiences within own work/customer group (and starting to build outside of that)
- Leveraged as a go-to resource in area and regularly mentors/coach others in their area of expertise
- Understand business value proposition and incorporate into own work
- Actively engage in broad (external/internal) IT Department initiatives, such as technical forums, communities of practice, recruiting or affinity group
- Worked on developing and implementing process improvements and SAP best practices across teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 9 years, 11 preferred SAP Development experience
- Cross Functional Development experience on Global SAP projects.
- Lead ABAP team on large SAP projects
- Application Design/Integration Development with SAP Products.
