The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.We are seeking a Tax Senior Analyst to join our team at LinkedIns office in Bangalore, India. This role will focus on managing and supporting indirect tax compliance and advisory functions across India and select other jurisdictions. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong technical knowledge of GST, service tax, and withholding tax regulations; with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a constantly changing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in India indirect tax and withholding compliance ensuring accurate and timely filing of tax returns and payments
- Prepare monthly reconciliations, tax-related journal entries, and general ledger activities.
- Support indirect tax compliance across APAC and EMEA regions, as needed.
- Support the finance team during internal and statutory audits, particularly for indirect tax and withholding tax areas
- Monitor tax legislation, rulings, and case law to assess business impact and recommend process updates.
- Analyze tax classifications for products and services to ensure correct treatment and reporting.
- Ensure Oracle ERP and related systems are aligned with current tax regulations and reporting needs.
- Independently manage GST tax audits, including data gathering, response drafting, and coordination with auditors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate tax computation and reporting.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives and process improvements, offering guidance on tax best practices.
- Assist with special tax projects and initiatives as required
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Masters degree/ Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance/Business with 6+ years of experience in India tax (Indirect and withholding tax)
- 5+ years tax experience within a multinational company and/or Big 4 consulting firm
Preferred Qualification:
- Chartered Accountant with 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power point
- ERP system knowledge such as Oracle experience a plus
- High level of professional integrity, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
- Proven ability to independently manage deadlines across daily responsibilities alongside other projects
- Effective communication of tax concepts to non-tax technical company personnel.
- Strong understanding of tax laws and filing requirements, with the ability to apply them effectively in practice.
- Demonstrates a proactive, hands-on approach with a strong sense of ownership and initiative
