Sr. Systems Engineer

As a Systems Engineer at the company, your role involves configuring, deploying, troubleshooting, and providing ongoing operations and maintenance support for client and Clients infrastructures (OS: e.g., Windows, Linux, VMware), primarily focusing on post-implementation support. You will work as part of a 24/7 team to ensure a secure and stable environment, ensuring smooth operations for customers. Additionally, you will serve as an escalation point for Systems Engineer I and II and provide coaching for the team. Key Responsibilities: - Monitor emails for incoming issues, updates, or questions from customers/colleagues. - Manage ticket management system, including incoming tickets and updates. - Advise the team regarding tickets in the queue. - Manage escalated tickets to ensure SLA compliance and customer satisfaction. - Prioritize tickets based on severity/urgency, providing guidance to others on priorities. - Deliver customer-focused support via phone calls and ticket-based communications. - Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve external customer and Systems issues. - Research issues using various resources and sources. - Follow standard ITIL practices for issue identification, solution determination, and implementation. - Work on projects, conduct project scoping, drive project deliverables, and raise governance issues. - Proactively monitor the environment, plan for maintenance and updates, and identify opportunities for improvement. - Develop compliance testing strategies and plans for system performance improvement. - Review and manage team documentation activities, including systems documentation, run books, reports, etc. - Coach and mentor other engineers, serve as a resource within the team, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in a related field and 7-10 years of system engineering experience or equivalent. - Experience with Linux, Windows, and VMware systems. - General Microsoft Office and Visio experience. - Additional certifications such as RHCE, SCSA, SCNA, LPIC, MCSE, MCITP, VCP, VCAP are preferred.
