Position Summary

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Sr Research / Research Scientist with specialized expertise in sunscreen and skincare formulation This role is key to leading the design, development, and optimization of innovative and effective topical formulations that align with international standards and regulatory guidelines

You will play a pivotal role in creating cutting-edge products while upholding the quality and innovation that HCP Wellness stands for

Key Responsibilities

Develop and optimize formulations for sunscreens (broad spectrum UVA/UVB) and skincare products including moisturizers, serums, lotions, creams, gels, and emulsions Lead product development from concept to commercial scale-up, ensuring compliance with global regulatory and safety requirements (eg BIS, FDA, EU regulations) Conduct stability testing, compatibility studies, and SPF in-vitro/in-vivo studies Collaborate with packaging, quality, marketing, and production teams to ensure product feasibility and performance Stay updated on the latest raw materials, actives, and trends in sunscreen and skincare technologies Maintain accurate records of lab work, technical documentation, and product specifications Troubleshoot formulation issues and provide technical support to cross-functional teams Support claims substantiation, safety assessments, and efficacy studies

Education

B Tech / M Tech in Cosmetic Science

Hard Skills

Strong knowledge of organic/inorganic UV filters, SPF testing methods, formulation chemistry, and emulsion technology Experience with in-vitro/in-vivo SPF analysis, water resistance testing, dermatological testing, and stability testing protocols Proficient in using lab equipment (viscometer, pH meter, homogenizers, etc) Familiarity with cosmetic regulatory frameworks (India, EU, US, ASEAN)

Soft Skills

Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail Excellent collaboration, communication, and project management skills Creative mindset with the ability to work independently and in a team Agility to adapt in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment

Preferred Experience

5 to 8 years of experience in cosmetic formulation, preferably with a focus on sunscreens and skincare Prior experience in private label, contract manufacturing, or B2B cosmetic development is highly desirable
