Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Sr Research Scientist - Oral Care to lead the development of innovative, safe, and effective oral care products This role is pivotal in advancing our product portfolio by leveraging scientific research, consumer trends, and regulatory compliance to deliver high-performance solutions in toothpaste, mouthwash, and other oral hygiene formulations

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end formulation development for oral care products including toothpaste, mouthwash, gels, powders, and rinses Conduct lab-scale experiments, analyze results, and optimize formulas for performance, stability, and compliance Evaluate raw materials for efficacy, safety, and regulatory acceptability Collaborate cross-functionally with regulatory, packaging, marketing, and production teams Ensure all formulations comply with relevant cosmetic and drug regulations (eg FDA, BIS, ISO standards) Guide junior chemists and technicians in lab activities and project execution Maintain detailed documentation, technical reports, and product specifications Stay updated on market trends, ingredient innovations, and emerging technologies in oral care

Required Qualifications

Hard Skills:

Expertise in oral care formulation and ingredients (eg fluoride, herbal extracts, whitening agents, antimicrobials) Proficiency in product stability testing, sensory evaluation, and pH/microbiological testing Knowledge of regulatory and quality compliance for cosmetic and drug-class oral care products Familiarity with scale-up processes and production transfer protocols

Soft Skills:

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Leadership and mentoring capabilities Effective verbal and written communication Attention to detail with strong organizational skills Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Education & Certifications

Master s Degree B Tech / M Tech Cosmetics Additional certification in Cosmetic Formulation, Regulatory Affairs, or GMP Compliance is a plus

Preferred Experience

5-8 years of relevant R&D experience in oral care product development (toothpaste, mouthwash, etc)
