Sr Principal Software Engineer

As a Sr. Principal Software Engineer at UKG, your role is crucial in designing and delivering next-generation architectural designs that lead to superior functional, scalable, resilient, adaptable, performant, and secure offerings at UKG. Your responsibilities include: - Serving as a subject matter expert in Software Engineering practice, providing technical leadership in Software Design, Development & Delivery, Reliability, Scalability, Performance, and Security across various domains. - Collaborating with Product Owners and Engineering Owners to make impactful decisions related to roadmap, design, and architecture. - Leading initiatives to develop architectural proofs-of-concept solutions to accelerate the adoption of technical strategies. - Acting as a technical strategic advisor for research work within the Development organization. Qualifications required for this role include: - 12+ years of Software Development experience. - Experience in designing and delivering large-scale distributed systems in a multi-tenant SaaS environment. - Proficiency in full-stack architectures, guiding architectural decisions for UI and back-end services. - Strong understanding of security, reliability, scalability, high availability, and concurrency architectural patterns and solutions. - Expertise in Java, SQL, REST API frameworks, React JS development, OOPS, Data Structures, Algorithms, multithreading, identity & security controls. - Experience with unit testing frameworks like JUnit, Mockito, PowerMock, etc., APIs, Web Services, database modeling, relational and NoSQL databases. - Proficiency with Git, software security practices, debugging, problem-solving skills, and passion for cutting-edge technologies. - Experience with Jenkins, Splunk, Kibana, Grafana, APM tools like Datadog. - Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, public cloud deployment platforms like GCP is a plus. - Experience with analytical tools like Pendo is a plus.
