Sr Merchandiser Hard goods

Roles and Responsibilities

• Buyer Handling

  : Communicate effectively with international buyers for product development, order execution, and approvals.

• Product Development

  : Coordinate with design and sampling teams to develop new collections in hard goods (furniture & decorative items) as per seasonal trends.

• Costing & Negotiation

  : Prepare product costing sheets and handle price negotiations in coordination with the management.

• Production Follow-up

  : Coordinate with internal production teams and vendors to ensure timely delivery and quality control.

• Documentation

  : Ensure all documentation (PI, PO, approvals, test reports) is in place and properly maintained.

• Vendor Coordination

  : Liaise with sourcing and fabrication teams for raw materials, sampling, and bulk order execution.

• Quality & Compliance

  : Work closely with QA/QC teams to ensure product quality and adherence to buyer specifications.

• Reporting

  : Maintain and share regular reports on order status, delivery schedules, and risk management.
• Collaborate with buyers to communicate product requirements and ensure timely delivery of samples.
  
• Oversee sample development process from concept to production, ensuring quality control standards are met.
  
• Analyze market trends and competitor activity to inform purchasing decisions.
  

Desired Candidate Profile

• Graduate/Postgraduate in Merchandising, Export Management, or related field.
  

• Minimum 5 years of experience

  in merchandising in an export house dealing with hard goods or home dcor.
• Strong understanding of materials such as

  leather, MDF, veneer, raffia, and fabric

  .
• Excellent communication skills and proficiency in email correspondence and Excel.
  
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts/orders simultaneously.
  
• Knowledge of international quality standards and compliance processes is preferred.
