Job Description

Senior Manager Plant HR & Admin

Key Responsibilities:

A. Administration & Facility Management (70%)

  • Plant Infrastructure & Facility Management:

    • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of plant buildings, utilities, housekeeping, security, transport, and canteen services.
    • Ensure uninterrupted facility services like water, electricity, HVAC, sanitation, etc.
    • Vendor management for facility services and compliance monitoring.
  • Security & Safety Oversight:

    • Manage plant security operations, including access control, surveillance, emergency response, and liaison with local authorities.
    • Support EHS teams in implementing safety practices and audits.
  • Compliance & Statutory Administration:

    • Ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory compliance related to plant administration, such as PF, ESIC, labor laws, fire safety, pollution control board norms, etc.
    • Maintain documentation for audits and inspections.
  • Administrative Budgeting:

    • Plan and manage the annual administration budget, cost optimization, and vendor contract negotiations.
  • General Administration:

    • Supervise administrative staff and support services (e.g., reception, pantry, transport).
    • Monitor employee transport and ensure effective routing, safety, and punctuality.

B. HR Operations (30%)

  • Employee Life Cycle Management:

    • Support in onboarding, exit management, and employee documentation.
    • Maintain HR MIS, attendance, and leave records in coordination with time office.
  • Industrial Relations & Labor Management:

    • Maintain harmonious industrial relations with blue-collar and contract workforce.
    • Coordinate with contractors to ensure adherence to labor laws.
  • Employee Engagement & Welfare:

    • Drive employee welfare schemes, cultural and engagement activities.
    • Act as a grievance redressal point for plant employees.
  • HR Policy Implementation:

    • Ensure plant-level HR policy implementation and discipline management.
    • Coordinate with corporate HR for updates and compliance.
  • Training Coordination:

    • Assist in organizing skill development and compliance training for plant staff.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education:

    MBA/PGDM in HR or equivalent. Graduation in any discipline.
  • Experience:

    10–15 years of experience in HR & Admin roles with significant exposure to plant/factory environments.
  • Preferred Industry:

    Manufacturing, Pharma, FMCG or related industries.
  • Languages:

    Local language proficiency is preferred.

  • Based at plant site; will require frequent rounds of the shop floor and facility areas.
  • Will need to coordinate with local government bodies and external vendors regularly.
