Job Description

Sr. Manager / AGM DGM: He will be responsible for the Lead foundry and will be reporting to the SBU Head.

Centrifugal casting experience must be even in a ferrous foundry.


Job Purpose


Primary Responsibilities :

  •  Responsible for driving Safety culture & best practices in the Melting shop ( foundry )
  •  Shall spearhead the production of the foundry shop and achieve Plan Vs. Act
  •  Must improve production planning and shift management continuously.
  •  Will continuously work on reducing burning losses and optimising other losses.
  •  Improve yield in line with planned targets.
  •  Implement cost reduction strategies for variable expenses such as stores, consumables, power, fuel, manpower, and tooling.
  • Shall work on continuous upgradation of the shop in terms of Automation & in line with the digitisation journey.
  •  Shall continuously work on the implementation of TPM, JH, 5S and other best practices
  •  Reduce internal and external rejections by continuous process improvement and monitoring.
  •  Provide proper training on Manufacturing best practices and guide the team for implementation.
  •  Control utility power consumption, including fans, lighting, compressors, air conditioning, and pump motors.
  •  Initiate and implement process improvement plans on a regular basis.
  •  Maintain accurate operational data, including time, production output, etc and do timely reporting of factory indices.
  • Minimise costs by optimising the use of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.
  • Coordinate, establish, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and operational guidelines.
  • Reduce furnace cycle time by implementing proper melting practices and minimising furnace holding conditions.
  •  Control the dross removal process to prevent excessive metal loss from dross.
  •  Maintain furnace lining life through proper operation and regular cleaning.
  •  Strictly monitor the melting process parameters to eliminate defects related to melting.
