Position Summary:

Individual Contributor | Expert-Level

Company is seeking to hire a Senior Lead or Lead Specialist Financial Benefits for the Employee Benefits Insurance Vertical. The lead provides advanced financial analysis and modeling directly to account and client teams. Responsibilities include developing Forecasts, IBNR estimates, and Plan Design Models with a focus on strategic impact and precision. The lead operates independently, contributes to client strategy, and upholds high standards of analytical rigor, without formal team management responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Major Action and Support Actions

  • Independently evaluate and present experience reports that assess client financial status, including tracking expenses, funding levels, and rates by Employee Benefit Plans. Deliver insights directly to account and client teams.
  • Develop accurate financial forecasts and strategic recommendations that support client renewal planning and financial objectives.
  • Appropriately estimate reserves for Incurred But Not Reported (IBNR) claim liabilities, enabling clients to allocate appropriate funds for claims incurred during the policy period but not yet reported. Ensure these estimates align with actuarial standards and support financial stability.
  • Create customized financial and performance reports, highlighting trends, metrics, and actionable insights to support client decision-making.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency in financial calculations by applying advanced analytical techniques and validating assumptions.
  • Collaborate with account teams to shape renewal strategies and provide data-driven insights that support favorable client outcomes.
  • Maintain logical, comprehensive, and contextually relevant analysis across all deliverables.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to resolve queries and ensure smooth execution of client deliverables.
  • Participate in client meetings and support underwriting discussions by providing financial insights and tailored recommendations.
  • Demonstrate ownership of domain expertise by proactively reviewing deliverables, identifying improvement opportunities, and contributing to best practices.
  • Manage multiple high-priority deliverables with precision, ensuring timely and high-quality outputs under tight deadlines.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Preference: Bachelors degree in actuarial science and Fully Qualified Actuary is preferred.
  • Candidates with degrees in Statistics or Applied Mathematics may be
  • considered if they've cleared at least 8 actuarial exams and have strong expertise in US or Indian healthcare, particularly in employee benefits.
  • Experience:

    8-12 years of US / Indian Healthcare experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

  • US Health Insurance / Group Insurance Expertise/Indian Health Insurance: Deep understanding of benefit structures, funding mechanisms, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Applied Statistics (Advanced Level): Ability to apply statistical methods to complex datasets for financial modeling and forecasting.
  • Domain Knowledge in Insurance / Reinsurance: Strong grasp of insurance principles, financial risk modeling, and claims analysis.
  • Advanced Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and generate strategic insights with minimal supervision.
  • Strategic Thinking: Capability to align financial analysis with broader client objectives and renewal strategies.
  • Communication and Presentation Skills: Proficient in articulating complex financial concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail and Time Management: Skilled in managing high-volume deliverables with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and contribute meaningfully to client engagements.
