Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Monitor and enforce safety standards in the plant, especially around heat treatment Operations & high-temperature processes.
Conduct risk assessments and job safety analysis, especially for mechanical equipment and thermal operations.
Identify unsafe acts and conditions, and take immediate corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with local safety regulations (e.g., Factories Act, OSHA).
Conduct regular safety training and toolbox talks for workers and operators.
Prepare and maintain documentation related to safety inspections, incident reports, and safety audits.
Coordinate with maintenance and production teams to ensure safe working conditions during equipment repair or breakdown.
Conduct fire drills and emergency preparedness exercises.
Implement and monitor the use of PPE and ensure its adequacy and availability.
Investigate accidents or near-miss incidents and suggest preventive measures.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to health and safety.

Preferred candidate profile

Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
Certification in Industrial Safety (e.g., NEBOSH IGC, Diploma in Industrial Safety).
Experience in safety management within manufacturing or thermal processing/heat treatment environment.
Good understanding of furnace operation, mechanical systems, and material handling equipment.
Strong knowledge of risk management, emergency response, and safety audit procedures.
Good communication and report-writing skills.
