Job Description

Job Purpose

To ensure product quality, compliance with customer requirements, and adherence to industry standards in semiconductor manufacturing. Responsible for driving quality systems, process improvement, and root cause analysis to support zero-defect culture and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Systems & Compliance
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and semiconductor industry standards.
Conduct internal audits and coordinate customer/third-party audits.
Drive implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Process & Product Quality
Monitor in-process and final product quality in wafer fabrication/assembly/test operations.
Define and maintain process control plans, PFMEA, and quality inspection methods.
Analyze yield, scrap, and rework data; drive improvements to reduce defect rate.
Customer Quality
Handle customer complaints, perform 8D/5-Why/RCA, and provide timely closure.
Ensure customer-specific requirements (CSR) are implemented and monitored.
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth new product introduction (NPI).
Data Analysis & Reporting
Utilize SPC, MSA, DOE, and other statistical tools to monitor process performance.
Prepare quality dashboards, KPIs, and present findings to management.
Continuous Improvement
Lead Six Sigma/Lean/Kaizen projects to enhance yield and process robustness.
Mentor junior engineers and technicians on quality tools and methodologies.
Support automation and digitalization initiatives in quality monitoring.

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of semiconductor process flow (wafer fab/assembly/test).
Hands-on experience with SPC, MSA, FMEA, 8D, 5-Why, DOE, and quality tools.
Proficiency in data analysis tools (Minitab, JMP, Excel, Power BI preferred).
Good understanding of ISO/IATF/automotive/aerospace quality standards.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Effective communication and ability to work cross-functionally.

Qualifications & Experience

B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline.
5 8 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Engineering in a semiconductor / electronics / automotive industry.
Exposure to cleanroom operations and ESD controls is an added advantage.
