Job Title:
Civil/QA Engineer - Solar Projects
Role Summary
The Senior Engineer - Civil & QA will be responsible for overseeing civil works, structural integrity, and quality assurance activities in utility-scale solar power projects. This role ensures that all civil and structural works meet technical specifications, statutory requirements, and quality standards, while adhering to project timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Civil Engineering & Site Execution
Plan, supervise, and monitor civil and structural works (foundations, inverter stations, control buildings, cable trenches, drainage, fencing, approach roads).
Review and approve civil/structural drawings, construction methodology, and execution schedules.
Ensure compliance with design specifications, IS codes, IEC standards, and project-specific requirements.
Coordinate with EPC contractors, consultants, and internal teams for timely issue resolution.
Monitor material consumption and prevent wastage.
2. Quality Assurance & Control
Develop and implement QA/QC plans for civil and structural works in solar projects.
Conduct inspections, material testing (concrete, steel, aggregates, soil), and verify test reports.
Maintain quality documentation as per ISO/IEC standards.
Identify non-conformances, initiate corrective/preventive actions, and follow up to closure.
Ensure supplier/vendor quality compliance for civil-related materials.
3. Project Coordination & Reporting
Liaise with design, procurement, and electrical teams to ensure smooth interface management.
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly progress reports, quality audit reports, and punch lists.
Participate in project review meetings and provide technical inputs.
Support commissioning activities and handover documentation.
4. HSE Compliance
Enforce safety procedures and conduct toolbox talks for civil execution teams.
Ensure adherence to environmental and statutory norms in civil activities.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
: B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering (M.E./M.Tech preferred).
Experience
: 7-12 years in civil engineering, with at least 3-5 years in utility-scale solar projects.
Technical Skills
: Civil & structural design understanding.
QA/QC procedures & test methods.
Knowledge of IS/IEC/ASTM standards for civil works in solar/EPC projects.
Software Skills
: AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera, MS Office, QA/QC reporting tools.
Certifications
: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or related QA certifications preferred. Key Competencies
