Sr Engineer- Electronics Hardware

As a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer with 6-9 years of experience in Product Design & Cost Out, you will be involved in various responsibilities related to VAVE (Cost Out) projects for Low Voltage Switchgear products such as switch disconnectors, contactors, MPCBs, push buttons, relays, and accessories. Working closely with global stakeholders, you will be responsible for idea generation, design, testing, and implementation phases to ensure product compliance with global design standards like IEC, UL, CSA, NEMA, or other relevant standards. Your role will also involve system and component sizing, designing, simulation, and testing activities to meet the requirements of Low Voltage Switchgear. You will be expected to modify existing products to align with customer, manufacturing, regulatory, industry standards, and market requirements using the Change Management process. Additionally, you will perform tear-down activities, generate cost-out ideas, and demonstrate your expertise in working on NPI/Sustaining/VAVE projects for various components and accessories. Utilizing your engineering skills, you will select appropriate techniques to solve problems, make design recommendations, and suggest alternative materials based on your knowledge of metals and plastics. Your understanding of low voltage switchgear standards and experience in executing tests for EN60947/UL60947 will be essential in developing test plans, assessing results, performing root cause analysis, and taking corrective/preventive actions. Furthermore, you will be responsible for conducting design engineering analysis on various components like current paths, mechanisms, springs, bimetals, housings, actuator circuits, arc chambers, coils, etc. Your role will also involve reviewing supplier documents, reliability predictions, FMEA, and various engineering tasks related to products, materials, manufacturing processes, tests, and customer applications. To support the project execution, you will need to assess production feasibility, ensure part production approval processes, and complete designs using tools like UG-NX or SolidWorks. Knowledge of PLM systems like Enovia and SAP will be beneficial, along with the ability to prepare materials for design reviews. In addition to your technical skills, you are expected to be a team player with good communication skills, capable of working effectively in a global and virtual environment. Experience in working on NPI/Sustaining/VAVE projects for various components and accessories will be advantageous for this role.,
