Job Description

The Customer Quality Engineer (CQE) plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality products to our customers. This position supports Gilbarco Veeder-Roots Global Quality team in providing quality assurance tailored to assigned customers, facilitating effective communication and collaboration between various stakeholders to drive quality improvements and resolve issues swiftly.

Key Responsibilities

Establish and maintain effective communication channels to ensure consistent resolution of customer issues and deployment of corrective actions. Review and approve corrective action responses, ensuring they address root causes and systemic issues. Conduct follow-up audits to verify the effectiveness of corrective actions. Initiate and manage corrective actions in the CDT&R (online corrective action system). Collaborate with the National Account Manager, Business Segment Team, and Manufacturing Centers to deliver quality assurance support. Assist in defining and deploying quality improvement programs for production and development products. Directly interact with customers regarding product removals, coordinating containment, and initiating root cause analysis investigations. Aggregate, analyze, and report on customer quality data, including returns, scorecards, and quality issues. Attend customer location meetings and HON site-specific meetings to address recent customer events. Conduct process audits to ensure compliance with contractual requirements. Attend and support customer program reviews as necessary. Maintain customer portals as required for information sharing. Assure awareness of the significant environmental aspects and environmental compliance obligations of your operations and ensure controls are in place. Ability to travel 60% of the time domestically and internationally. Other duties as assigned, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field required.
6 - 8+ years in quality assurance, customer support, or engineering roles, preferably in manufacturing or product development required. 6 - 8+ years experience with PPAP, APQP, and ATEX compliance preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in data analysis tools and quality management systems with auditing experience. Experience with Lean Management principles. Familiarity with root cause analysis methodologies.
