Sr Automation Developer

As a Senior Automation Developer at Barclays, your role involves designing, developing, and improving software using various engineering methodologies to provide business, platform, and technology capabilities for customers and colleagues. You will be successful in this role if you have experience with: - Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Information Technology - Hands-on experience in test automation for enterprise-level applications using object-oriented languages such as C# and Python - Excellent knowledge of different test tools and platforms like MS Test and BDD - Strong experience in building Regression and Performance test suits with popular web development frameworks like Angular and React - Previous experience in server-side application development with a strong understanding of multi-threading - Experience with RDBMS, preferably SQL server - Excellent problem-solving skills - Experience working in Agile development methodologies such as Scrum, Lean, or Kanban - Excellent communication and team skills - Familiarity with source code management and continuous integration/delivery processes using tools like Git, TeamCity, Jenkins, Chef, and SonarQube In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing testing strategies to validate functionality, performance, and user experience. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve defects, improve testing processes, and ensure software quality and reliability. Your key accountabilities will include: - Developing and implementing comprehensive test plans and strategies - Creating and executing automated test scripts - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and participate in design discussions - Conducting root cause analysis for identified defects - Promoting a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing - Staying informed of industry technology trends and contributing to the organization's technology communities Some additional highly valued skills may include knowledge of financial services in Investment banking and collateral management, experience with distributed cache technologies like Ignite, Redis, Gemfire, messaging frameworks like Kafka and Solace, and cloud automation experience.
