MSSQL Database Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain
Microsoft SQL Server
databases
Perform
backup and recovery
,
disaster recovery planning
, and
failover clustering
Optimize
database performance
using indexing, query tuning, and partitioning
Monitor database health and respond to alerts using tools like
SQL Profiler
and
Database Tuning Advisor
Implement
security controls
, user access, and role-based permissions
Manage and automate scheduled tasks and jobs (SQL Agent Jobs)
Collaborate with developers for schema design, query optimization, and deployment
Document processes, architecture, and changes

Required Skills:

Strong experience with
MSSQL Server 2016 and above
Proficiency in
T-SQL, SSMS
, and
SQL Server Agent
Experience with
high availability
and
replication strategies
Knowledge of
database security and compliance practices
Familiarity with
PowerShell scripting
and
automation tools
Experience working in
cloud environments (Azure SQL, AWS RDS)
