Description
As a Corporate and Investment Banking professional, your main responsibility will be to acquire new corporate clients in high-growth sectors, with a focus on mid-sized and large companies. By building strong relationships and leveraging intermediary networks, you will contribute to significant revenue growth and the expansion of the liabilities portfolio. Your key accountabilities and responsibilities will include achieving targets by acquiring new-to-bank corporate clients in sectors such as MNCs, IT/ITES, KPO/BPOs, education, shipping & logistics, data centers, pharmaceuticals (R&D), reinsurance brokers, EXIM companies, e-commerce, fintech, and mature startups. You will be expected to secure 2-3 new accounts per month with an average quarterly balance of INR 2 crore per account. Additionally, you will be responsible for promoting and selling a diverse range of liability products tailored to client needs, including operating accounts, term deposits, and other transaction banking solutions. You will also be required to originate new business through offering custody services, AIFs, FPI, FVCI, and FDI-DEMAT accounts. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with intermediaries such as law firms, CA/CS firms, and consulting firms will be crucial in order to source deals in the M&A and PE/VC space. You will collaborate with regional sales teams to leverage the bank's international network and generate cross-referral leads. Your role will also involve collaborating with regional sales heads to implement liabilities strategies, achieve revenue targets, and identify key market segments. You will need to analyze client requirements and ensure that the bank's offerings effectively meet their needs while contributing to the commercialization of new product rollouts. To excel in this role, you should have 5-6 years of proven sales experience in the corporate banking sector, with a track record of acquiring and managing liabilities for mid-sized and large companies. Experience with FX and risk management solutions, along with deep market knowledge within the mid-market/MNC segment, will be highly desirable. Additionally, having an established network with intermediaries in the M&A and PE/VC space and experience managing capital account transactions will be beneficial. Education-wise, a postgraduate degree is preferred, with Chartered Accountant (CA) and/or MBA (Marketing/Finance) qualifications highly desirable. Key competencies for this role include sales expertise, financial product knowledge, transaction banking expertise, collaboration and communication skills, relationship management, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities. You should also possess technical skills related to transaction banking systems, regulatory compliance, and financial markets.
