Job Summary:

Spanish Teacher

Key Responsibilities:

1. Teaching and Curriculum Delivery:

• Design and implement effective Spanish lessons aligned with the IB curriculum for Grades 6 to 9.
• Focus on developing students proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding Spanish.
• Incorporate cultural elements to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of Hispanic traditions and customs.

2. Student Engagement:

• Foster an interactive and inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation and interest in language learning.
• Use creative teaching methods, such as role-plays, games, and multimedia resources, to enhance language acquisition.

3. Assessment and Progress Monitoring:

• Assess and monitor students progress through quizzes, assignments, and examinations.
• Provide constructive feedback and individualized support to help students achieve their language learning goals.

4. Collaboration and Planning:

• Work collaboratively with colleagues to align lessons with interdisciplinary projects and school events.
• Participate in meetings and contribute to the development of the Spanish curriculum as required.

5. Spanish Club for PYP Students:

• Design and lead a vibrant and engaging Spanish club for PYP students to spark early interest in the language.
• Plan fun activities, such as songs, storytelling, and cultural celebrations, to introduce the basics of Spanish in an enjoyable manner.

Qualifications and Skills:

• C1 level is preferred. B2 level is a must.
• Bachelors/Masters degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field.
• Experience teaching Spanish to middle and high school students, preferably within an IB framework.
• Strong command of the Spanish language and a good understanding of Hispanic culture.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Creativity and enthusiasm for teaching languages.

Work Schedule:

• Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri - 7.50am to 4pm
• Wed - 7.50am to 4.30pm
