Job Summary: Kanakia International School - IB, Chembur, is seeking a passionate and experienced Spanish Teacher to join our faculty. The teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging Spanish lessons to students in Grades 6 to 9, fostering a love for the language and an understanding of Hispanic culture, and leading a Spanish club for the PYP students to promote early language exposure and interest. Key Responsibilities: 1. Teaching and Curriculum Delivery: Design and implement effective Spanish lessons aligned with the IB curriculum for Grades 6 to 9. Focus on developing students proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding Spanish. Incorporate cultural elements to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of Hispanic traditions and customs. 2. Student Engagement: Foster an interactive and inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation and interest in language learning. Use creative teaching methods, such as role-plays, games, and multimedia resources, to enhance language acquisition. 3. Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Assess and monitor students progress through quizzes, assignments, and examinations. Provide constructive feedback and individualized support to help students achieve their language learning goals. 4. Collaboration and Planning: Work collaboratively with colleagues to align lessons with interdisciplinary projects and school events. Participate in meetings and contribute to the development of the Spanish curriculum as required. 5. Spanish Club for PYP Students: Design and lead a vibrant and engaging Spanish club for PYP students to spark early interest in the language. Plan fun activities, such as songs, storytelling, and cultural celebrations, to introduce the basics of Spanish in an enjoyable manner. Qualifications and Skills: C1 level is preferred. B2 level is a must. Bachelors/Masters degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field. Experience teaching Spanish to middle and high school students, preferably within an IB framework. Strong command of the Spanish language and a good understanding of Hispanic culture. Excellent communication and classroom management skills. Creativity and enthusiasm for teaching languages. Work Schedule: Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri - 7.50am to 4pm Wed - 7.50am to 4.30pm Location: Kanakia International School - IB, Chembur
