Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Sr Fabric Sourcing Manager

Preferred candidate profile

Experience:
15 to 25 years of relevant experience in
woven fabric sourcing
(Ladies Top Shirting, Bottoms, Denim, Twill, Canvas, Poplin, etc.)
Industry Exposure:
Garment export house / buying house / textile mill preferred
Fabric Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of
woven fabric constructions, yarn types, GSM, finishes & dyeing/printing processes
Hands-on experience with
cotton, cotton blends, linen, viscose, polyester blends
Vendor Management:
Proven ability to
develop, negotiate, and manage fabric suppliers
Strong network of
domestic & international mills
Costing & Negotiation:
Expertise in
fabric costing, price negotiation, MOQ management, and lead-time control
Sampling & Development:
Manage
fabric R&D, quality approvals, lab dips, strike-offs, and bulk approvals
Quality & Compliance:
Good understanding of
fabric quality parameters, testing standards, and compliance requirements
Coordination Skills:
Strong coordination with
merchandising, production, QA, and planning teams
Technical Skills:
Ability to read and interpret
tech packs, fabric specs, and buyer requirements
Systems Knowledge:
Comfortable with
ERP systems, Excel, and sourcing documentation
Soft Skills:
Strong communication, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership skills
Location Flexibility:
Willing to travel for
mill visits and sourcing activities
