Role & responsibilities

Yarn sourcing good knowledge of Linen, all type of cotton, Silk & other yarns

Yarn Sourcing / Procurement Manager (Woven)

Experience:

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Industry Experience:

• Proven experience in

  yarn sourcing for woven fabric manufacturing mills

• Exposure to

  grey, dyed, and processed woven fabrics

• Yarn Knowledge (Must Have):

• Strong understanding of

  cotton yarns (carded, combed, compact)

• Knowledge of

  PC, PV, CVC, viscose, linen, polyester & blended yarns

• Familiar with

  ring spun, open-end (OE), compact, slub, melange yarns

• Count range experience:

  Ne 10s – 80s

• Supplier & Mill Network:

• Strong network of

  spinning mills (domestic & import)

• Ability to

  develop alternate suppliers

  for cost & lead-time optimization

• Costing & Negotiation:

• Expertise in

  yarn price negotiation, contract finalization, and market trend analysis

• Good understanding of

  cotton market movements & yarn price fluctuations

• Quality Control:

• Sound knowledge of

  yarn quality parameters

  :
• CSP, CV%, U%, IPI, hairiness, twist, moisture
  
• Ability to coordinate

  yarn testing, approvals & rejections

• Planning & Inventory Control:

• Coordinate with

  production & PPC teams

  for yarn planning
• Maintain

  optimum inventory levels

  and avoid shortages/excess stock

• Compliance & Sustainability:

• Knowledge of

  BCI, GOTS, GRS, OEKO-TEX yarn sourcing

• Understanding of

  traceability & documentation

• Process Coordination:

• Work closely with

  weaving, dyeing, and merchandising teams

• Ensure

  on-time yarn availability

  for loom planning

• Technical & System Skills:

• Experience in

  ERP / SAP / Excel-based yarn tracking

• Strong documentation & MIS reporting skills
  

• Soft Skills:

• Strong negotiation, analytical ability, vendor management & communication skills
  
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple counts simultaneously
