Sound Engineer

A Sound Engineer (or Audio Engineer) manages the technical side of sound for live events or recordings, responsible for setting up equipment, capturing, editing, mixing, and reproducing high-quality audio for music, film, games, or broadcasts, requiring both technical skill with gear like microphones, consoles, and DAWs, and creative problem-solving to meet production needs and enhance the audience experience. Key Responsibilities Setup & Maintenance: Setting up and testing microphones, speakers, mixing consoles, and other audio gear. Recording: Capturing sound sources, ensuring proper mic placement and levels. Mixing: Balancing levels, applying effects (EQ, compression), and creating a cohesive mix for live shows or studio tracks. Editing & Mastering: Refining recorded audio, cutting/splicing tracks, and preparing final master copies. Live Sound: Managing Front of House (FOH) or monitor mixes during concerts, conferences, or performances. Collaboration: Working with directors, producers, and musicians to achieve the desired sound.
