Solution Architect - VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure)

Role & responsibilities:

• Solution Design & Architecture:

- Design and architect comprehensive VDI solutions tailored to customer needs, utilizing various VDI platforms (e.g., VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Azure Virtual Desktop) and associated technologies.

- Define technical architectures, including compute, storage, networking, security, user profile management, application delivery, and management tools.

• Technical Presentations & Demonstrations:

- Create and deliver compelling technical presentations and product demonstrations to various audiences, from C-level executives to technical IT teams.

- Showcase the features, benefits, and value proposition of proposed VDI solutions, focusing on how they solve specific customer problems and achieve business outcomes.

• Proposal Development & Response:

- Prepare high-quality technical proposals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and RFPs (Requests for Proposal) that clearly articulate the solution, its implementation approach, and its value.

- Collaborate with sales, product management, and engineering teams to ensure proposals are accurate, competitive, and aligned with client expectations.

Preferred candidate profile:

- Deep expertise in designing and implementing VDI solutions using platforms such as:

- VMware Horizon

- Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (XenDesktop/XenApp)

- Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)

- Other relevant VDI solutions (e.g., Nutanix AHV)

- Strong understanding of underlying infrastructure components:

- Server virtualization (VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V)

- Storage solutions

- Networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs)

- Directory services (Active Directory)

- Operating systems (Windows Server, Windows client OS)

- Experience with user profile management solutions (e.g., FSLogix, VMware UEM, Citrix UPM).

- Knowledge of application layering and packaging technologies (e.g., App Volumes, MSIX App Attach).

- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and hybrid cloud architectures.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Strong presentation and demonstration skills.

- Proven ability to understand business problems and translate them into technical solutions.
