Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Test Architect to lead the quality engineering and test automation strategy for the Cummins Industrial IoT (IIoT) platform. This role requires deep expertise in designing and implementing test automation frameworks, defining automation scope, building and executing automation plans, and driving continuous quality validation across the platform. The Test Architect will play a key role in ensuring robust, scalable, and reliable software delivery within our IIoT ecosystem. Roles & Responsibilities:
Define the overall test automation strategy and framework for the Cummins IIoT platform.Evaluate and recommend the right automation tools and frameworks (TOSCA, Playwright, Selenium, Python, etc.) for diverse testing needs (UI, API, IoT data streams, cloud services).Partner with product owners, architects, and development teams to identify automation scope and coverage across modules and services.Create detailed automation test plans including coverage goals, execution strategy, and resource needs.Establish and maintain continuous testing pipelines integrated into CI/CD for fast, reliable feedback.Perform continuous quality checks, monitoring KPIs like defect leakage, automation coverage, execution time, and stability.Ensure reusability, maintainability, and scalability of automation assets.Mentor and guide QA/automation engineers, providing technical leadership on automation best practices.Drive evaluation of new test tools/technologies to enhance automation effectiveness.Collaborate closely with DevOps and platform teams to integrate testing into IIoT workflows, cloud services, and edge deployments.
Professional & Technical Skills:Proven experience as a Test Architect or Senior QA Automation Engineer in large-scale enterprise or IIoT/cloud-based platforms.Strong hands-on expertise with test automation frameworks and tools- TOSCA (model-based test automation) - Playwright and Selenium (UI/browser automation) - Python (automation scripting, API/data validation)Experience designing end-to-end automation strategies (UI, API, integration, performance, and regression).Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar).Knowledge of cloud-based testing (AWS/Azure) and IoT-specific test scenarios (data ingestion, device simulation, event stream validation).Strong skills in test planning, test data management, and defect analysis.Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.Preferred
Skills:Experience in industrial IoT platforms, streaming technologies (MQTT, Kafka, Flink), or cloud-native systems.Knowledge of performance and reliability testing in distributed environments.Familiarity with security and compliance testing in industrial systems.
Additional Information:Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.Certifications in test automation tools (TOSCA, Selenium, ISTQB Test Architect, etc.) are a plus.
