We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Solid Waste Management (SWM) Expert to lead and support planning, implementation, and monitoring of waste management systems in line with urban development goals. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with municipal solid waste (MSW) projects, technical know-how, and regulatory compliance awareness.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Solid Waste Management (SWM) Expert to lead and support planning, implementation, and monitoring of waste management systems in line with urban development goals. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with municipal solid waste (MSW) projects, technical know-how, and regulatory compliance awareness.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and monitor solid waste management systems across urban and semi-urban areas.

Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and prepare project reports (DPRs).

Work with local bodies (ULBs) for strengthening waste collection, segregation, transportation, and disposal mechanisms.

Ensure compliance with Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016 and other relevant policies.

Provide technical assistance for setting up waste processing plants (composting, biomethanation, RDF, etc.).

Support IEC (Information, Education, Communication) campaigns on waste segregation and recycling.

Liaise with government agencies, consultants, vendors, and NGOs.

Prepare MIS reports, project documentation, and progress updates.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s and Master’s in Environmental Engineering / Civil Engineering / Environmental Science / Public Health Engineering or related field.

2 to 5 years of relevant experience in solid waste management projects.

Proven knowledge of SWM Rules, 2016 and related urban development frameworks.

Experience working with ULBs or Smart City/AMRUT/SBM projects preferred.

Strong communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, GIS tools is an added advantage.
