Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Software Test Engineer to join our quality assurance team. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through comprehensive testing strategies, automation development, and close collaboration with development teams.

Key Responsibilities

Testing & Quality Assurance

Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for web applications, mobile apps, and APIs
Perform functional, regression, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing
Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking systems
Conduct exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and usability issues

Test Automation

Develop and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, TestNG, or similar)
Build and enhance continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) testing pipelines
Create automated API tests using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar
Maintain test automation frameworks and improve test coverage

Collaboration & Process Improvement

Work closely with developers, product managers, and designers throughout the software development lifecycle
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives
Provide feedback on requirements and user stories from a testing perspective
Contribute to improving testing processes, methodologies, and best practices

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
3-5 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance
Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks (Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Playwright, etc.)
Knowledge of API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI, REST Assured)
Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)

Testing Expertise

Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, test design techniques, and QA processes
Experience with both manual and automated testing approaches
Knowledge of performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner) is a plus
Understanding of database testing and SQL queries
Familiarity with mobile testing (iOS/Android) preferred

Soft Skills

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams
Ability to work independently and manage multiple testing projects
Experience working in Agile development environments

Preferred Qualifications

ISTQB or other relevant testing certifications
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Knowledge of security testing principles
Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
