Scope of Role

We are seeking a Senior Siebel CRM Engineer (Level 4) to lead modernization efforts for WEX’s Customer Relationship Management platforms within our Mobility Engineering team.

This role goes beyond maintaining Siebel—it’s about transforming it. You’ll help decompose legacy Siebel functions into API-first, modular services, aligning with Helix’s pillars of workflow optimization, payments intelligence, and industry expertise. You’ll also design integrations and reusable components that enable agentic workflows, intelligent automation, and data-driven customer experiences.

As a senior technical leader, you will collaborate closely with architects, product owners, and cross-domain engineering teams to align CRM modernization with WEX’s strategic roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

Architectural Leadership & Modernization

  • Lead the modernization of Siebel CRM into a modular, cloud-ready architecture aligned with Helix principles.
  • Identify, design, and implement decoupled domain services, API gateways, and event-driven integrations.
  • Drive product-aligned, iterative modernization, balancing business delivery with long-term platform evolution.
  • Introduce and extend agentic capabilities—building workflows and microservices that enable intelligent, automated decisions.
  • Serve as a domain expert in Siebel and related integration technologies, guiding technical direction and best practices.

Engineering & Delivery

  • Design, develop, and optimize complex CRM solutions across configuration, scripting, workflows, and integrations.
  • Oversee large-scale enhancements, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Partner with DevOps to implement CI/CD automation, cloud migration, and observability frameworks.
  • Conduct and review technical design documents, code reviews, and system health assessments.
  • Support production systems with a focus on reliability, automation, and proactive issue resolution.

Collaboration & Mentorship

  • Partner with Product, Architecture, and Platform Engineering teams to ensure consistent design patterns and reuse across systems.
  • Mentor engineers (L2/L3) on technical excellence, modernization practices, and Helix-aligned development methods.
  • Act as a liaison between CRM and other enterprise systems to ensure seamless interoperability.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, with 5+ years in Siebel CRM (20.x or higher).
  • Deep proficiency in:
    • Siebel Tools, eScript, Workflows, EAI, EIM, Integration Objects, and Open UI customization.
    • Siebel Web Services (REST/SOAP), Business Services, and Enterprise Configuration.
    • Performance optimization, query tuning, and workflow efficiency.
  • Strong understanding of event-driven architecture, Change Data Capture (CDC), and data streaming (Kafka).
  • Experience designing and implementing APIs and reusable services integrated with Siebel.
  • Proficiency in SQL/PLSQL, Unix/Linux scripting, and database technologies (Oracle, Postgres, Snowflake).
  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proven ability to translate business capabilities into technical services and data flows.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience decomposing legacy CRM systems into microservices or domain-driven architectures.
  • Experience integrating AI or automation frameworks within CRM workflows (agentic or event-triggered logic).
  • Exposure to FinTech, payments, or other high-availability, high-transaction systems.
  • Familiarity with data quality and governance tools.
  • Experience leading modernization initiatives involving multi-system integration and cloud adoption.
  • Strong technical documentation, communication, and stakeholder alignment skills.
