JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position Summary:
- Should have deep hands-on
experience in operation, cleaning, and maintenance of various make compression machines such as Fette, Korsch, Killian, Courtoy, Sejoing, Cadmach, etc.
- Should be able to handle troubleshooting and problem-solving, acting as the primary authority for resolving complex production issues, machine malfunctions, and deviations that arise during the compression process.
- Should have capability for
installation and commissioning of compression equipment.
- Should have experience as an
OEM service engineer, including AMC, calibration, and predictive maintenance.
- Should have knowledge about critical components like load cell, amplifier values, interlocks, all cams in the machine, different sets of change parts like feeder wheels, fill cams, sealing segments, punches & dies, etc.
- Should have knowledge about
equipment management
for overseeing the operation, setup, disassembly, cleaning, and maintenance of tablet compression machines
(e.g., mono-layer setup in single & double rotary compression machine, bilayer setup in double rotary compression machine, MUPS setup in compression machine, etc.). - Should be able to guide selection of machineries, change parts, spares, and material from reliable manufacturers/suppliers.
- Should have knowledge
about instrumentation, calibration, and operation of components installed on compression machines.
- Should have deep knowledge about the compression process cycleprocess optimization and validation—using compression principles (forces, material properties, tooling, and speed control). Should be able to optimize manufacturing processes, validate test results, and ensure product uniformity and quality.
- Should have knowledge about
AWC test
(Auto Weight Control challenge test). Responsible for maintenance management (breakdown and preventive maintenance) for all compression machines available at site.
- Should have knowledge about product characteristics versus precautions to be taken during the process.
- Would be the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for compression machine OEMs for technical discussions in order to set good engineering practices and monitor preventive maintenance centrally.
- Should be able to liaise and communicate with cross-functional teams (Quality and Production).
- Should have knowledge about Quality Management System (QMS) like change control, CAPA, unplanned deviation, and investigation.
- Should be able to prepare SOPs for operation and maintenance of equipment, ensuring all operations adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) regulations.
- Would be responsible to face and respond to auditors/agencies technically on compression-related matters.
- Should be able to handle third-party vendors during day-to-day activities and installation of equipment.
- Should have knowledge about execution, documentation, and coordination with third-party vendors for CSV and PCS (Process Control System) qualification and validation.
- Responsibility would be to manage critical and consumable spares of compression machines like cams, sealing segments, window flap gaskets, electronic cards, etc.
- Should be able to train operators and engineers working on compression.
- Should be able to handle project work related to digitization, automation, and upgradation of systems and equipment.
- Should ensure safety standards are maintained at site and ensure safety procedures are available and followed strictly in accordance with relevant regulations.
- Should be able to do technical coordination with the procurement team and follow up with vendors for material and project/service work.
- Should ensure timely compliance with internal and external audit observation points.
Travel Estimate
Up to 50% | They will be travelling 12-15 days a Month, and should be ok to travel to all sites globally
Job Requirements
Educational Qualification
Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering degree or equivalent.
Experience
10-15+ years’ experience
