Site Safety Officer

Role & responsibilities

* Implement and enforce company safety policies and statutory regulations at project sites.

* Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.

* Organize and lead toolbox talks, safety inductions, and training sessions for site workers.

* Ensure proper usage of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and monitor adherence.

* Report and investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; recommend corrective actions.

* Maintain and update safety documentation such as risk assessments, checklists, and safety records.

* Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, and Contractors to ensure safety protocols are followed.

* Display and maintain safety signage, fire safety equipment, and emergency response systems.

* Liaise with statutory bodies during inspections and audits.

* Promote a culture of safety awareness and proactive risk management across all site teams.

Qualifications and Experience

* Diploma / Degree in Engineering or Industrial Safety (recognized by State/Central Government).

* Minimum **35 years** of experience as a Safety Officer in *construction / fit-out / interior / manufacturing / engineering projects*

* Knowledge of **OSHA / ISO 45001 / National Building Code / Factories Act and related safety standards.

* Strong understanding of site safety risk assessments, emergency response, and safety documentation.
