Site Reliability Engineer

The Engineer Intmd Analyst position is an intermediate level role where you will be responsible for various engineering activities such as designing, acquiring, and developing hardware, software, and network infrastructure in collaboration with the Technology team. Your main objective will be to ensure that quality standards are maintained within the existing and planned frameworks. We are currently looking for a highly motivated and skilled Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our team. As an SRE, you will have a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our production systems. Your responsibilities will include automating tasks, enhancing monitoring and observability, and driving continuous improvement in our infrastructure and processes. This role provides a unique opportunity to merge software engineering expertise with operational focus, enabling you to have a direct impact on the availability and performance of our services. Your responsibilities will include: - Automating repetitive tasks in the production environment using scripting languages like Python and configuration management tools to enhance efficiency and reduce manual effort. You will assess the impact of automation efforts on process improvement and man-hour savings. - Developing and maintaining monitoring and observability tools, connecting production applications with platforms like Splunk, ELK, AppDynamics, Evolven, or ITRS. You will set up alerts and dashboards to proactively identify and address potential issues, ensuring comprehensive system visibility. - Collaborating with development and operations teams to pinpoint automation opportunities and reduce manual tasks, fostering a culture of automation and continuous improvement. - Conducting thorough root cause analysis of production incidents, recognizing patterns and proposing solutions for permanent or temporary fixes. You will proactively identify potential issues and implement preventive measures. - Advocating for SRE best practices within the organization, promoting enhancements in monitoring, alerting, automation, and incident response processes. - Continuously learning and keeping up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in SRE. Qualifications required for this role include: - BSC/BE/ME/MSC/MCA in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - 3+ years of experience in a hands-on Site Reliability Engineering role with demonstrated accountability for delivering results. - Proficiency in Python or Angular. - Experience with at least one database technology: MongoDB, Oracle, or other RDBMS. - Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, ELK, AppDynamics, Evolven, ITRS, or similar platforms. Proven ability to configure alerts, dashboards, and onboard applications. - Strong scripting and automation skills, with a track record of automating tasks in a production environment. - Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills, with a keen eye for identifying patterns and root causes. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to challenge existing practices and advocate for improvements. Desirable skills for this role include experience with version control systems like GitHub or Bitbucket, as well as containerization technologies like Docker, OpenShift, or Kubernetes.,
