Site Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Site Execution & Supervision

• Supervise and execute all civil construction activities at the petrol pump site such as excavation, foundation, tank installation, canopy, driveway, and building construction.
• Oversee installation of underground fuel tanks, pipelines, dispensing units, and drainage systems.
• Coordinate with mechanical and electrical teams for integration of systems (piping, earthing, lighting, etc.).
• Ensure proper utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials to meet project timelines.
  

2. Quality Assurance & Control

• Ensure the use of approved construction materials and adherence to specified mix designs and standards (e.g., M20, M25 concrete, etc.).
• Conduct inspections at each stage of construction foundation, RCC, flooring, canopy, and finishing.
• Monitor compaction tests, concrete cube tests, slump tests, and other quality parameters.
• Maintain records of test results, inspection reports, and approvals.
  

3. Planning & Coordination

• Prepare daily and weekly progress reports and share them with the Project Manager or Client.
• Plan work schedules, allocate resources, and coordinate with subcontractors for smooth execution.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for timely delivery of materials such as steel, cement, tiles, and fittings.
• Conduct regular review meetings with the site team and client representatives.
  

4. Drawing & Documentation

• Study and interpret architectural, structural, and utility drawings related to petrol pump layout.
• Ensure that work is executed as per the latest approved drawings and technical specifications.
• Prepare as-built drawings, BBS (Bar Bending Schedule), and material estimation reports.
• Maintain all project-related documentation such as daily site logs, inspection records, and correspondence.
  

5. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure strict implementation of safety measures during excavation, tank lowering, and hot work.
• Monitor use of PPEs (Personal Protective Equipment) and enforce safety protocols at the site.
• Coordinate with the HSE team for conducting toolbox talks, risk assessments, and incident reporting.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and oil company-specific safety guidelines.
  

6. Measurement & Billing

• Record daily work measurements and assist in preparing RA (Running Account) bills for clients and subcontractors.
• Verify material consumption and reconcile with progress achieved.
• Assist in cost control and budgeting to prevent wastage and ensure project profitability.
  

7. Coordination with Authorities & Clients

• Liaise with local authorities, consultants, and client engineers for approvals, inspections, and clearances.
• Support in facilitating NOCs, statutory inspections (e.g., PESO, electrical, and fire approvals).
• Attend client review meetings and provide site updates and compliance reports.
  

8. Finishing, Testing & Handover

• Oversee final finishing works such as tile laying, painting, pump island finishing, and landscaping.
• Conduct final quality checks and ensure all punch list items are completed.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning of fuel systems, pipelines, and electrical installations.
• Prepare completion documents, as-built drawings, and handover reports for the client.
  

9. Environmental & Housekeeping Management

• Maintain site cleanliness and proper disposal of construction waste.
• Ensure spill prevention measures and environmental protection during tank and pipeline installation.
• Monitor stormwater drainage and oil-water separator systems for compliance.
