Site Engineer -Bridge Construction

The Site Engineer for Bridge Construction will be responsible for overseeing and managing all on-site construction activities for bridge projects. This includes ensuring that the work is carried out according to design specifications, within budget, and on schedule. The engineer will ensures quality control, safety standards, and efficient resource management while providing technical support and resolving issues as they arise. The role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and the project management team.

Role & responsibilities

• Supervision of Construction Activities:

  Oversee daily bridge construction work, including setting out, leveling, and conducting site surveys. Supervise the construction of key bridge components such as foundations, piers, abutments, and deck.

• Quality and Safety Assurance:

  Ensure compliance with quality standards, project specifications, and safety regulations. Conduct regular inspections and enforce health and safety protocols.

• Project Coordination:

  Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and design teams to align construction work with project goals. Facilitate clear communication and resolve any on-site issues.

• Resource Management:

  Manage labor, equipment, and materials effectively to avoid delays. Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and resources.

• Technical Support:

  Provide hands-on technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve construction issues. Adjust plans and methods as necessary to meet site conditions.

• Reporting and Documentation:

  Maintain detailed records of daily site activities, including progress reports, issues, and resource usage. Submit reports to the project manager and update stakeholders regularly on the project's status.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education:

  Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

• Experience:

  5 to 7 years of experience in bridge construction or similar infrastructure projects.

• Technical Skills:

  Proficiency in civil engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, STAAD Pro) and understanding of bridge construction techniques, materials, and standards.

• Soft Skills:

  Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
