Role Description:

The Civil Site Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and managing all civil construction activities at the solar power plant site. This includes planning, execution, quality control, safety compliance, and coordination with subcontractors and other engineering disciplines to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Site Supervision:

Monitor and supervise all civil works related to solar plant construction, including site grading, foundation work (RCC/pile), cable trenching, roads, boundary walls, drainage, and other infrastructure.

Ensure work is performed according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.

  • Project Planning & Coordination:

Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and structural teams to ensure smooth execution of multidisciplinary activities.

Work closely with the project management team to plan daily, weekly, and monthly construction schedules.

Manage and monitor contractors, vendors, and suppliers to maintain project timelines.

  • Quality Assurance & Compliance:

Ensure adherence to quality control standards during construction activities.

Maintain proper documentation of inspections, test results, and approvals from consultants or third-party agencies.

Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards (EHS).

  • Technical & Reporting:

Review construction drawings and provide technical input as needed.

Report daily and weekly progress to senior management, highlighting issues and proposing solutions.

Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings and handover documentation.

  • Materials & Resource Management:

Monitor the availability and proper use of construction materials and equipment.

Raise requisitions for materials and ensure proper storage and handling.


Qualifications & Experience:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech)

Experience: 5–8 years of experience in civil construction, preferably with at least 1–2 years in solar power projects or renewable energy infrastructure.

Certifications: PMP, AutoCAD, or MS Project knowledge is a plus.


Skills Required:

Strong knowledge of civil engineering concepts and construction practices.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Familiarity with industry codes and standards related to civil works and solar power plants.

Good communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and project management tools.


Working Conditions:

Willingness to work at remote project sites.

Ability to work in outdoor and varying weather conditions.

Flexibility to work extended hours as required to meet project timelines.
