Role & responsibilities

• Safety

• Maintain Zero Lost Time Cases (LTC).
• Ensure 100% compliance in accepting work permits for all engineering or non-routine tasks, with proper job safety risk assessments attached.
• Provide special focus on high-risk activities such as Line Break, Hot Work, and Confined Space operations.
• Enforce zero tolerance for unsafe behavior across the team.
• Demonstrate and lead strict adherence to safety standards and compliance on the shop floor.
• Ensure all operations follow defined Health, Safety, Environment, and Fire (HSEF) standards.
• Conduct regular Gemba rounds to identify and correct unsafe acts and conditions on the shop floor.
• Lead safety audits, visits, and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
  

• Production

• Lead safe and smooth startup of the section, targeting zero incidents related to safety, quality, or material availability.
• Develop and promote a process/system-driven operational culture.
• Ensure production output aligns with the planned targets.
• Strive for optimal inventory accuracy (physical vs. system stock reconciliation).
• Ensure 100% batch postings and material consumption tracking through MES & ERP systems.
• Maintain 5S standards across the shop floor.
• Generate and release regular production reports in line with internal governance systems.
• Actively participate in plant review meetings.
• Lead efforts to achieve benchmark Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Take ownership of audits, external visits, and related documentation.
• Conduct effective shift handovers as per HOTO (Handover-Takeover) protocols.
• Plan and ensure availability of raw materials, packing materials, and consumables for the next shift.
  

• Quality

• Ensure all operations/tasks are performed as per documented and approved procedures.
• Monitor that all input and output materials comply with approved quality specifications.
• Eliminate sources of contamination through strong discipline and effective engineering/administrative controls.
• Operate within defined Standard Operating Conditions (within Aim Control Limits).
• Use data analysis to support quality assurance, address customer complaints, improve process management, and troubleshoot problems

• Cost

• Focus on loss elimination and yield improvement by ensuring that all equipment operates at their design capabilities.
• Team / Manpower
• Build the teams understanding of fundamental engineering principles relevant to the equipment in the section.
• Mentor and guide team members on the operational intricacies and best practices of the section.
